The Drive....

We made it to Iowa! We've been here about a week now and are still feeling very unsettled, but are loving the new house! We leave tomorrow to go out of town for Justin's brothers wedding, so I thought I'd put up a few pics from the drive while I had the chance. It wasn't too bad, about 8 hours, and thank goodness for the big new car!

As you can see I arranged all our stuff around Chauncy's dog bed so that he would be able to lay there and see out. Unfortunately that didn't work to well. He was very confused as to what was all going on and wanted to be as close to everyone as possible.....
As you can see from this picutre, he spent some time acting as Anna's pillow. He was actually sleeping ontop there.
And finally he found his spot, underneath Anna's chair on the hard mats. Forget that I spent forever arranging everything in the back around his nice comfy bed, he spent the majority of the time on the ground.....go figure!

But we're here, we'll post more pics and update you all soon. We think of you all often, especially with all the uneasiness of moving and having to meet new friends all over again.....but that's life.

Past Week

Thought I'd update our past week. We've been SO busy getting ready to move. The packers/movers come tomorrow morning to take everything away and we leave on Thursday morning! So this past week I took the kids to Kings Island one last time to ride all the rides. We were so excited to see Scooby-Doo taking pictures outside of the haunted Scooby ride. For those of you who know Cameron well, you know that this is his all time favorite character. In fact he has requested a Scooby Doo party for his birthday this year. Well, everything was great until it was our turn for a picture and Cameron wouldn't go near him! He started crying and clinging to my shirt. Needless to say, the photo is only of Scooby and Anna.
This is one of the kids' favorites, the Dora Explorer/Swiper ride. It whips the kids around the corner really fast which is why they're all giggles!

Here's Cameron thinking he's all bad.....hands up!
On Saturday we went to Justin's dad's house one last time. We went swimming in their pool and had a yummy BBQ. David took the kids for a ride on the tractor and let them each drive. They live on 10 acres so we didn't need to worry about any crashes!
And here's Anna's turn to drive.
Cameron loved floating on his back in the pool. The pool was soooo nice and the water was the perfect temperature.
David and Anna posing for some pictures. You can glimpse Justin and Anna in the background.

Visiting

My dad was in town last night on business, so we were able to go downtown and have dinner with him. The kids as always were excited to see Grandpa and told everyone they saw that day that Grandpa was coming. We had a great dinner at a new restraunt called Chalk. As you can see for dessert we had the cupcakes....yummy! Nice to see you dad!

Who's Worried about Gas Prices?!

So....we finally bought a new car! (well, we leased a new car) It all happened really fast. We listed my car on Craigslist and sold it within a week, which meant we had to find another car fast! We had been looking at SUV's for awhile now and had it down to two, the Buick Enclave and the Infiniti QX56. Justin told me to pick one and go get it. So on Thursday afternoon after a lot of deliberation I settled on the Infiniti and I love it! It has plenty of room and LOTS of cool "techie" stuff. The minus was the gas mileage of course, but the car was perfect otherwise. Lucky me that they had a car with my interior and exterior color choices! So on Saturday morning we went and picked it up! It'll take me awhile to figure out how to work everything, but we'll get there. Yeah!

**Notice my park job, I'll learn to park it in the lines someday**

Swim Lessons

I finally remembered to bring my camera to Anna's swim lessons today. This is her second week of lessons and she just loves it! I on the other hand get quite nervous. They have the kids in the deep end of the pool (13 feet) swimming! She is really doing well though and looks forward to it every day.

She loves wearing her swim goggles too! They keep these noodles around their waists to keep them afloat while learning to kick and move their arms.

Here she is going off the low diving board....all by herself! I was right on the side watching and making sure everything was okay. I'm just amazed at how fast they move these kids through the classes!

Jersey Boys

So I'm a little late in bloggging this, but Justin and I were able to go with some friends to see the play Jersey Boys last weekend. It was a great play and the music and story line were FANTASTIC! Warning though....the language was crazy! So if you're intrested in seeing it know that! And it wasn't just me who thought it, at intermission in the bathroom everyone was talking about it. But still, the play and performances were awesome.

Happy Birthday Eric!

Today is my brother-in-law's 33rd birthday. So I thought that I would do a top ten list of Eric's favorite things. Here we go.....

Eric's Top Ten
1. Mouthain Dew: the "Biggie" size from the gas station
2. Enchiladas....he requested tacos for his birthday dinner
3. Watching Sports - anything and everything...really! One time when we were visiting my parents he was sitting on the couch watching billiards on ESPN, who does that?!
4. In-N-Out Burger- after years of hearing how awesome this little burger joint is, we stopped and ate at one in Las Vegas. Can I say not very good?
5. USC Football- being a true southern california boy he roots for the Trojans. Us being Ohio State fans makes for some good rivalries.
6. Metallica- no explanations for this one.
7. Candy- I know a lot of these deal with food, but he does love candy! His newest love is apple licorice....yuck!
8. This one's kinda weird, but when I first met him he would sing the song "Baby got Back" and to this day I always think of that song when I think of him.....kinda like a really demented theme song.
9. Computers- he is our families resident "Computer Nerd" but I'll be the first to say how thankful I am for it. There have been many times when he's been able to solve my computer problems.
10. Sweater Vests.....ha ha ha!!!!
